Description
This 20th century US Military History print features General John J. Pershing as he pays homage to the unknown soldier by placing a wreath on the tomb at Arlington National Cemetery, Virginia, to mark the 20th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice. Signed between the Allied Forces of World War I and Germany, the Armistice marked the end of hostilities between the two sides and came into effect on the “eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month” of 1918.
